BUSINESS AND BUSINESS

VISIT EGYPT I had an agent in Egypt, Mr. Mahfouz D. of P. Trading and Agency Ltd., where I received many requests from goods from various disciplines, I almost always sent a quote, if you offered a quote you had to bid a Bond, of 2%, by means of a bank guarantee but I made for years the mistake that I thought was not necessary (?!!!), then I got an application from among others a vertical lathe and several other workshop machines, which I had applied for from Strojimport Nederland in Mijdrecht, Mr Jurgen F. was the salesman I negotiated with, this Jurgen believed in the project, they had offered a total of 6 machines and in doing so , at my request, a transferable Bid Bond, later called Jurgen and said that they could not deliver a machine, but in the meantime I had already received confirmation from the client from Egypt, from the Societe des Sucreries et the Distillerie d'Egypt, Cairo, that the Vertical Lathe is worth Dfl. 851,044.00, technically accepted, I said to Jurgen now we are lucky that the client has opened the offer, they have only accepted one machine, if they had accepted all the machines we might have had a fine, on one occasion Mr. U., director of Strojimport Netherlands in Czechoslovakia, now czech republic and started on this lathe with the management of the holding, they said to him, do not worry about this , we also sacrificed it ourselves, so you have little chance, on another time he was there again, again the same conversation,

then there was a call from Mijdrecht by Jürgen saying: We have the assignment: info VERTICAL LATHE EN kopie L/C....
Letter of Credit was a 'transferable' (transferable) which we have at Strojimport Nederland, now Strojimport also had to take care of the Performance Guarantee, I have advised them to add a Clean Report of Finding, if such a CRoF is included it is difficult to say from the client that the delivery is not correct, and that they can claim the 10% of the P.G., this is 10% of the L/C value and one of the C.R.or F. costs a few promille.

so to speak, so to speak, now they would build this lathe themselves at the S.I.I.C.C. obviously, the accountability etc., and I therefore did not accept this bill,
I suggested to them that I would argue in this problem in case we were to get another assignment later, whatever we got, a Radial Drilling Unit with a huge capacity in diameter worth about USD 125,000.00
I went to Cairo at one point and drove around with Mahfouz D. and the Director of the Purchasing Department but I didn't realize that I should have invited this director to visit the Netherlands.
I once made a quote for Stainless Steel fittings for the Sugar Company, When I got the order, the prices of Stainless Steel Sky-High had gone, but fortunately the validity of my offer had already expired and I could therefore refuse the order without any problems, the seller of Stainless Tubes, a part of Leeuwen Buizen, had the idea to deliver anyway I asked him if he kept the prices from the date we had sacrificed, so he did not do so, but I had suffered a dent at the Sugar
Company. bad luck so....

I received a request from a company from Kuwait regarding delivery of "dessert grass" to use it along the roads to prevent the spraying of the sand, because the sand ended up on the highways and then it became as slippery as bacon, that sand had become because of the constant movement around and therefore life-threatening, this grass had a double
effect , too roots held the ground and the grass stems worked like a kind of wall, this dessert grass, was also used in Australia, furthermore I had previously received an invitation from the Commissioner of Katsina-State to "stop by", in Amsterdam lived a Nigerian/Biafraan who as a war innature here in the Netherlands, he is called Drs. ing. Ben U... the following "titles" Doctorandus in the development economy and Engineer in tropical agriculture had made his own (I mean, then you really are a refugee, he also spoke Dutch, but then on his English), who I asked if he was interested in going, he had to take out a loan to pay the costs, but did feel like going along, so we organised the following trip:
Brussels>>Cairo>>Kuwait>>Cairo>>Cano>Katsina Town (Nigeria), I had to consult a Letter of Guarantee at the Kuwaiti Embassy, see LETTER or GUARANTEE KUWAIT

and so we left, first to Cairo from there to Kuwait City, there we have in a Holliday-Inn hotel See
